Mother's Help - 7-11 Dec: Thoughts and applicants!

I need someone to help me for a week (7-11 December) with my (then) 8m old baby boy whilst I recover from some surgery. I will be 3 days post op by 7 Dec and will be fully mobile but I am told bending over may be a bit uncomfortable for a few days. I just need someone to hang out with me for the working week to help me with my usual day including getting baby up in the morning and bathed in the evening and light household chores like dishwasher loading/unloading, putting the washing machine on etc. I would expect to be back to my normal self by the end of the week so the work should get easier as the week goes on!

My ideal person would be warm, chatty and friendly and someone who genuinely enjoys looking after and playing with children. I would also really like someone who uses their initiative to think about what would be helpful even if it is just sticking on the kettle and making us both a cup of tea!

Any thoughts on what I should expect to pay someone for this would be appreciated and if you think you would be interested in helping me for this week, please get in touch. We live in Camberwell.

Thanks!

    • If it was limited to a couple of days a year, so we all knew, that would be fine. In the last few years (and it is a recent thing) you get random fireworks going off any time after dusk for half the year. It does more than cause problems for pets and wildlife- it can mean lasting damage and massive expense and hassle for pet owners. All because some get a buzz out of loud bangs.
    • Ohh dear.  Fireworks can be great fun.  Where I used to live the kids would have firework wars/games.  Watching them was more enjoyable than watching  TV. (Which you could hardly hear due to the pops and bangs).  It's not like anyone/anything could stop them. I would still prefer organised public displays that are affordable.   And I agree that fireworks cause problems for wild life, pets and people.   It seems to be one of those things that just happens so we have to put up with it.  But it is still not as problematic here as in other areas in London - that's for sure.
    • I made sure to set off a few today just to rile you guys up 😇😂 Always looking for something to criticise
