I'm selling my lovely Maclaren Techno XT Buggy. It is black, and comes complete with original removable fleece lined footmuff and full instruction manual. It has seen us through from birth to walking but is still in excellent condition. Handles a slightly battered, as is the way with all Maclarens. and there's a small tear in the end of the raincover, but it's still waterproof and in really good working order. If I had another baby, I'd be keeping this! As it is, it will be ideal for anyone who wants a second hand buggy in good condition from a pristine, smoke-free, pet-free home.

    • We may never know, but does it actually matter?
    • Ha ha, @ianr maybe I am more sceptical towards politicians than others as my dad insisted I watched Yes Minister/Yes Prime Minister and read Private Eye in my younger years! It opened my eyes to politicians and how they will flip flop to suit their own personal goals! One does wonder if Cllr McAsh would have made the same "principled" jump to the Greens if he had not had his Labour career knee-capped by Labour HQ over the leadership of the council.....
    • Could be that it was for some sort of gas powered appliance, there were many types in the past. In my parents’ Victorian house, we had a gas powered fridge freezer until the late 1970s and they were still being sold new at that time. It plugged into a sort of bayonet socket on the wall with flick switch to turn the gas on and off.
    • Thanks, all. I'm pretty sure it is all fine but I've got someone coming to change a radiator who is also a registered gas engineer so he's going to check it out while he's here. Better safe than sorry. Interesting that it's so near the skirting board - we've got one downstairs at head height which is clearly for a gas lamp but you'd think it would be too low if it's at shin level! Can't envisage how they've have used it in ye olden days. It's nowhere near the chimney breast so it would be an odd place to put a gas fire.
