I'd like to say thank you to the kind woman who looked after my 12 year old son and drove him home after he was mugged for his phone. This happened on Monday morning at 10.30 in the Hambledon Estate area near Dulwich Hamlet Football Ground.I would drop in to say thank you but he doesn't remember which house it was!

If you know a mother with young baby who helped a very frightened( but not physically harmed thankfully) young boy -please pass this message on for me. Police were informed and sent an officer to take details within a couple of hours. Please be extra careful when walking on your own. I'll be encouraging him to always travel with a friend from now on.

Hi Sarah, thanks for the post. It was no trouble taking your son home - I just wanted to ensure he was safe. I also spoke with the Police when they came down the road to make sure the crime was reported, which they confirmed it had.

I hope your son is ok (he was a very lovely boy) and this hasn't knocked his confidence.

I also hope they catch whoever did this. It awful to think that could happen in broad daylight! I'm always checking who is around me when I'm out and about now.

    • Shame. I wondered why they were asking for donations to help with running costs in last weeks issue. Been buying it for many years but only recently was thinking of giving it a miss as over the past couple of years it had become too politicised. Their South London Opinion page was particularly biased.
