Floorpspots welcome

We really enjoyed na-mara when they came to The Ivy House in 2014 to support Phillip Henry and Hannah Martin, so we are delighted to be welcoming them back as headliners in their own right!

na-mara perform traditional songs and tunes from the British Isles, Brittany, France, Quebec, Asturias and Galicia as well as self-penned songs in traditional style.

Described as "elegant and skilled musicians" by Folk London, folk duo na-mara (Rob Garcia and Paul McNamara) perform at clubs and festivals across the UK and have, in recent times, performed in France and Spain and featured in broadcasts on BBC Radio 4 and a host of local radio stations.

They perform self-penned songs in traditional style on a range of contemporary and historical topics as well as traditional songs and tunes from across the British Isles, their own translations songs from the Breton, French and Quebecois traditions and a wide variety of tunes from Asturias, Galicia, Brittany and northern France.

Their recent albums 'Navajos & Pirates' (released in 2015) and 'The Bite' (released in 2010) have received critical acclaim from a host of local and national folk magazines with tracks broadcast on a range of folk music radio programmes across the UK and beyond.

    • What is it that makes Waitrose so special! Admittedly I have shopped a couple of times in the Orpington and Beckenham one - sometimes buying food which I cannot get else where. Their 'basic range' is not bad. Price for price and quality - M & S.
    • Sometimes a shed or other installation has to have written approval from the freeholder i.e. Southwark, Southwark has (or did have) a Leaseholder Association.   Could also come under Anti Social Behaviour Unit.
    • Love Dulwich is great but has a large step in front. We have only been weekdays at Lunch time. Maria's next to Picture House is disabled friendly. Also can reserve table in advance. We did a Sunday lunch catch up with family - there were 8 of us.
    • Hi, Thinking about  going with some friends and was just wondering if folk might like to report back please. Most importantly sound level when busy & is it disabled friendly.  Thinking on a Sunday lunchtime but don’t want a busy busy environment or loud chatter - a couple of friends could not cope. Time can be flexible, if that helps - say 2 ish to avoid above.. Thanks…
