Was there a street party around Underhill Road / Melford Road on Sunday (27/09) evening? Was it open to all - as I remember hearing something a few months ago with live music.....and basically am jealous I may be missing out! Especially the woman singer on around 10.45 / 11pm - does anyone have any details such as a MySpace page?

Thanks

Jonny

The singers were good, weren't they?

We got this put thorugh our door early Sunday afternoon.

I'm just writing to let you know that we're putting on a fund-raising event on Sunday 27th September in the back garden of 63 Wood Vale. It will last from 1pm to 11pm, and it's also going to be filmed by German TV network RTL. We will keep disturbance to a minimum but if you have any questions, please call.... . Thanks for your support.

Donal Coonan and the rest of the team.

I don't know any more than that

Ruth

I also got that notice through my door - a bit late in the day i thought. I am all for having a good time, but I think making this level of noise on a sunday night in a residential neighbourhood is really unfair. Also MC swearing loads - not great when you have kids who are being kept awake anyway.

Go somewhere else please next time! Perhaps you could film in germany!!

...from 1pm till 11pm!!! It's bad enough when people play music on loudspeaker on public transport for a 30 mins journey....growlybear and tikki have my sympathy. There must be other ways to raise awareness and money for a good cause than this.

    • When I managed a large staff group, and workers were needed for Christmas day, there was always a queue of people wanting a shift, for many reasons.  Where is the problem-why is it shameful?
    • 🎄Are you flying solo for Xmas?   🎄Let’s be honest-it can be weird. But maybe it’s also a chance to just …chill.   🎄How are you planning to treat yourself and make the day feel good?   🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅All ideas welcome.    ✌️Drop yours below. 🎄🎄🎄
    • Until the licencing laws changed in the late eighties, pubs were only allowed to open Sunday hours on Christmas Day, so 12 'til 2, and the majority didn't open in the evening unless it was for a 'private party'. But that's another story. The landlord of my old local used to let everyone double or treble up at last orders so that you could avoid having to watch the Queen's Speech with your Nans at three o'clock. Dulwich Tandoori is open Christmas Day for those who don't fancy Gail's.  'Festive Flavours', apparently.
    • My nominations are the Goblin Band at the Goose, and the Errol Linton Trio  at the Dulwich Folk Club.  I'm not sure what other venues we have in the immediate area.  I rarely do the big (1000 plus) places any more.  Your nominations? And a special mention to Truthpaste, at least one member is local and their video was recorded around here.  But I caught them in North London.  And please see the link to the BBCs recording of the Copper Family at the Castle a few weeks ago~: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m002ng53
