Is anyone else freaking out about the nursery scandal that's in the news right now? Goodness knows it's hard enough finding decent (so you'd hope) childcare without learning that what should be the most innocent of havens - a nursery - is at the centre of a (not sure I can use the word on this forum) 'ring' that messes with babies and toddlers. I'm looking to move my two children (one 2 years old and one on the way)to a nursery nearer home (Peckham Rye ish) and am now seriously worried about making the move. Our nursery may be miles away but I'm fairly certain that it's safe (as certain as I can be). And now the thought of moving to an unknown is giving me sleepless nights.

Anyone got any thoughts or words of reassurance??

Its awful, but the reason its in the news is because it is so totally unusual. Seriously the chances of it happening to you are a million to one - much more likely to get hit by a car and all that.

You could take my approach and try not to read about these things so they don't upset you?

I agree with Mellors, try not reading the sordid details and go by your gut feelings of the nursery you will be placing your children in. I think if something dreadful was happing at nursery your two year old will certainly not like going in the mornings and you, with your mother's instinct, will be able to pick up on something like that. In any case, the chances of something terrible happing are very, very slim. Hope this helps. -C

Do give it a go.
    • Greens have some mad polices and I am still trying to work out if it is true that the leader of the party thought he could hypnotize women to have larger breasts 🤷‍♂️ country is in a real state at the min and all party’s have a part to play in that. what the future holds who knows but it is worrying.
    • A stellar win for the Greens in Gorton and Denton, no doubt. But by-elections are funny beasts. Labour's strength traditionally has been in its ground game. Legions of canvassers over many years in many seats usually means that they are best placed to 'get out the vote' on election day. I can't quite believe that the Greens have enough data, or people, to wrest control of the council from Labour.
