Mindfulness-Based Childbirth and Parenting (MBCP)

Hi Mums to be - just a quick post to see whether anyone could be interested in attending a Mindfulness-Based Childbirth and Parenting (mbcp) workshop in the new year- towards the end of Jan?

I got interested in this approach, as an alternative to hypnobirthing, after coming upon Nancy Bardacke's book: 'Mindful Birthing'. In a nutshell mindfulness preparation is all about alertness in the present moment and learning to cope with all parts of your emotional and physical experience, rather than trying to change this. Hypnosis, on the other hand, is about learning how to deeply relax mentally and physically very often using the power of imagery to help cope/distract.

The workshop would be run over a full weekend or 2 separate weekend days and facilitated by a really wonderful midwife who trained with Nancy Bardacke herself, and who is based up North, but would be willing to make the trip to London,to teach me and others, if we can drum up enough interest. The idea is for preggos and their partners to attend together and there would be a cost for participation, yet to be determined, but similar to what it costs to attend a whole weekend hypnobirthing course.

Get in touch if you want to know more! Thanks so much! Jasmine

    • Anyone can deliver for Evri - my daughter having just passed her driving test tried Evri to make some money - they basically give you a route and as many parcels as they think you can cope with - you make money for each one you deliver, so you can imagine - speed is the priority. Why would they wait for you to answer the door when they can just throw it and take a photo? If you have a choice, choose a different courier service or shop elsewhere where they do.
    • Boil - it’s the customer’s fault, not the delivery person’s.
    • A bit of a long shot but I'm on the lookout for a portable pop-up counter or podium.   The kind you often see on a high street, used by charities or utility companies to advertise their wares.   I've included a photo to give you the idea. I'm a peckham-based artist and am looking for one for a free (and non-profit) community art project.  It can be in any workable condition and can already have signage on it as we will remove and redecorate ourselves.    Thanks in advance, Linzie
    • No I absolutely did not - that much is clear. Have you read the latest stories about Unite, Len and the hotel in Birmingham? The UK electorate were smart enough to reject a far-left party in 2019, let's hope they are smart enough to reject a far-right party at the next election too. If not we are all doomed.
