Roof Insulation for Victorian Top Floor attic rooms

Hello

I live in one of the typical Victoria Terraces on the Camberwell/Peckham border. Our top two bedrooms are up in the roof with casement windows. However, I don't think it's a loft conversion. I think the house was originally built with the rooms like that as there is absolutely zilch insulation - we had some replastering done when we first moved in and from what I remember it's basically plaster on lathes and then the boards for the tiles to be attached to - which makes the rooms very cold in the winter and is obviously hugely wasteful in terms of energy.

Has anyone got the same problem and have you managed to solve it. I'm looking for suggestions for an economical and non-intrusive way to insulate these rooms.

Also, I need to get one of the sash windows in the casements replaced so any recommendations for a good local sash window company would also be great.

  There is a dance fit class at Harris girls on a Monday evening 630 pm which I have been going to for years . It is an inclusive class with a wide range of ages. The teacher is Fi and she is amazing and the classes are lots of fun. look on the web justdanceuk .com. There are other dance classes (flowetic )that Fi and the lovely Lizzie runs at Harris girls too . They also have an event next week which is a bit further- near Penge which is a day of dance to include just dance fit, dancehall, line dancing, garage fit and flowetic . Which is also available to book on that website ( look at the events section) .

  I didn't realise that either! I thought it just meant division within communities - religious, racial or otherwise. Yes, it is frightening. The days of the broad church political party are over.

  So I've done a little more research into the current use of the word, I hadn't realised it had latterly been used to describe anti Muslim feelings. Still don't like the use of the word. These are horrible times and am fearful for the future.
