digital camera recommendations please?

Hello

I am looking to buy a new camera but there's so many on the market i was hoping for some advice.

I was looking at the panasonic lumix gx7 as a friend has it and the photos are amazing, but ideally i would want something a little smaller and lighter which takes the same quality pictures. does such a thing exist, and if so, is it under ?500?

not too fussed about being able to change lenses - as long as the camera can take excellent landscape, night time and moving shots.

any advice greatly appreciated. thanks all!

I would always go for a Canon or Nikon, supposedly have the best lenses, rather then anything too gimmicky...
