Professional couple looking for a home in Jan/Feb

Hello,

We are a professional couple, both 30, on the lookout for a home close to Peckham Rye station. We both work as journalists and have busy work lives so are looking for somewhere to come home and relax in.

Ideally we'd be looking for one or two bedrooms over a studio, and our maximum budget is around ?1300 pcm.

We're looking to move from mid January onwards, and can be flexible on dates. If anyone knows of anywhere coming up around that time, please do let us know!

Thank you

Hi Jenny,

If you'd consider Forest Hill - I have a two bed flat available mid-Jan for 1300. Its close to the station but away from the street and quiet. Sorry if you are really only looking for Peckham, but I thought Id give it a try. I posted an ad for it here:

Happy new year!

Ryan

Hello,

I have a two bedroom flat on Honor Oak Rd in Forest Hill, in a small block of 6 flats, near the Horniman museum. It was recently renovated, (finished yesterday!) The second room is small. It has a brand new kitchen and water system and is freshly decorated in white with a beech wood floor. The living room is open plan with one wall of glass. Communal garden.

Unfurnished. I can send images if it sounds of interest to you.

Thankyou,

Clare

    • Thanks very much for that.   I think the better informed we are, the better our discussions will be. The article contained: "That arrest had quite an impact on the [phone theft] numbers for the following month,” said Green.  Here's another indicator, admittedly a piece of police PR,  of how well-targeted police efforts, mostly invisible to us,  can when successful  seriously affect offending figures: https://news.met.police.uk/news/met-police-drive-down-theft-and-robbery-by-84-percent-in-battersea-and-nine-elms-500495.
    • Another excellent article from Jim Waterson's London Centric reporting https://www.londoncentric.media/p/kitchen-foil-and-algerian-markets?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email Interesting that there seem to be favoured and repeated routes for phone snatching for particular thieves.  Seems ED might be one of them ☹️
    • Anywhere near the Overground/Windrush due to its excellent transport links.  You will get larger place in SE23 for example that will give you enough spare cash for private school if that's what you really want but states schools generally good, reflecting the demographic  Easy to get to the bustling streets of East Dulwich but in ten years see what happens to Forest Hill centre.  The whole of the area is full of green spaces. Access to East Croydon for days out in the South Coast
