Cornelia's biography:

Cornelia is a trained journalist and achieved a Masters in Leadership in Education in 2013. With a first class honours degree in English literature and language, Cornelia is passionate about all things English. She quickly builds strong relationships with her students in order that her teaching can have the biggest impact.

After graduating from the University of Leeds in 2006 with a strong belief in the power of the written word she trained as a newspaper journalist working in both England and Ireland. She was then appointed as an Education Correspondent having developed enthusiasm for education equality and excellence. She gained frontline teaching experience volunteering as an English teacher in Argentina in 2008 before embarking on the intensive two-year Teach First leadership programme in North West London in 2010. Subsequently she worked as a key stage four manager in a start up school, creating a two-year plan to raise achievement for over 300 students in GCSE Literature and Language.

She currently works in Education consultancy for a not for profit international organisation. All her projects are evidenced-based, focusing on methods that have the greatest impact on student learning. She is a fantastic tutor because she is ardent about English, loves to learn, and truly believes that it is in making mistakes that we learn the most. Because of these values she will make you feel confident to learn steeply and deeply. When she isn't tutoring, Cornelia loves keeping fit for long distance races, cooking for friends and eating at new restaurants.

    • You can get a card at the till, though, to get the discount. You don't have to carry it with you (or load it onto your phone), you can just get a different card each time. Not sure what happens if they notice 🤣
    • Yes..that may be the case but membership STARTING at £115 a month is still unafforable for many. Council gyms also have a large range of equipment and I had a  PT at Dulwich leisure centre when I was in Full Time employment who was incredible and even kept in contact during lockdown giving me a program I could do at home and checking in weekly at no charge or personal gain for herself. I dont doubt that Fit For may be a good gym (Its been in situ long enough so must be doing something right) However the cost of membership means it is affordable for the few not the many. If I could afford that kind of fee I would rather get a train to Canary Wharf and go to Virgin active where theres a pool and incredible classes and facilities
    • This sounds great 👍
    • We found a red TREK bike yesterday that had clearly been stolen and dumped. Would love to reunite it with its owner. Get in touch if you know whose it is.
