Hey all,

Happy New Year!

Tomorrow marks a full year since starting this thread and coming out as a board game geek!! So glad I did. Thank you all for making 2016 almost bearable 😜😘

Who's around this eve for games and drinks and suppressing the urges to gloat/cry when you win/lose?

Thank you, Brad! I'll be looking forward to the anniversary.

Sadly Rob and I are still caught in some post-Christmas nonsense. All should be back to normal from next week. Can't wait to be back gaming!

  • 2 weeks later...

Hey all,

We are a year old to the day on Thurs!! As a celebration, everybody needs to be buy me lots of drinks 😜

I'll be bringing Inis for the next few weeks. It's a bit of a weird one... I think you'll get a lot more out of it if you watch the rules explanation at the beginning of the following video:

As always, there will be lots of choice. And I'll be bringing it again if it doesn't hit the table or you don't get to play it this week.

Cheers

Brad

    • I was so sick of being ghosted by tradespeople, but contacted Hussein on the advice of a neighbour.  I'm so glad I did. They did a great job, were communicative, started and finished exactly when they said they would and were really tidy and respectful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a reliable and great value painter.
    • I think for the English, turtles are salt-water (sea) beasts whereas terrapins are fresh water, but I know e.g. Americans use 'turtle' for all chelonians including tortoises.
    • They're turtle-y different.  😉 They hibernate, burying themselves under mud or at the bottom of the pond. There have been regular sightings in there (and in Dulwich Park) for years and terrapins can live for 15-20 years in the wild, 30+ years in captivity. They are however an invasive species - whether or not the RSPCA or a local wildlife charity would come out to try and trap / remove them is another matter.
    • Hmm they seem to disappear in the winter - and there are some who say that terrapins are a kind of turtle.
