Damp advice needed please

Hello - I have a damp problem in the upstairs bedroom under the windows. I have tried everything to sealing the windows, checking the roof etc and now need someone to 'diagnose' where the leak is. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in anticipation.

Sorry I forgot to say, does anyone have any suggestions for an expert in the area who could come and have a look..

An expert, in my opinion, is Angela Lyon, she's based in Streatham and has been Chartered Building Surveyor and Chartered Quantity Surveyor surveyor for the best part of 40 years. She has a lot of experience in damp solutions and also serves as an expert witness, although that latter bit may not be applicable to you unless someone else is responsible for the problem

Check your outside cills aren't letting water in, meaning they haven't got a decent fall on them so water can run away , also when windows where put in they may have been made good with bonding which will act like a sponge and cause moisture and damp into the house

Regards

Dave

    • Errr the signs on the fences....there were signs telling people how long the disruption was going to be under the original plans (diversions of public footpaths etc) and now the council has attached a new one over the top telling them that Brockwell Live are responsible for remedying the problems and the fences will be up "until further notice". I suspect they are going have to re-seed or re-lay large swathes of grass and that requires some time to bed in so I suspect the Brockwell Wall will be up for some time. If you want to go look yourself head on over to the BMX track at the top of the hill and you will find one of the signs there - I was there today.
