Lauren1310
Hello there, I am looking for my next role. I am looking for ideally no less than 20 hours a week but I am flexible. I have, in order of which they were gained, a BA (Hons) Performing Arts - 2.1, a Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young Peoples Work Force, a postgraduate certificate in counselling skills and psychotherapeutic perspectives (all elements passed at merit/good pass) and I am working on my latest qualification which is another counselling certificate. I have first aid knowledge although my recent certificate needs updating. I am learning to drive and expect to pass my test in just over a month (but I can drive with ease and with distractions). I also have the usual A Levels and G.C.S.E'S all past at a high level. I am not OFSTED registered and do not drive yet.I have covered the well educated part and certificates Who am I? - In very brief summary I am a natural care giver, highly empathetic, highly analytical and I have a large dose of self awareness and integrity. I strive to be the best in relationships I can be and learn from my mistakes. I see life as a continuous process of learning and therefore feel curiosity is important. I spend a lot of my 'free' time watching Ted Talks, Neuroscientists on YouTube and reading both my course books as well as books in other areas. I also spend my time updating myself about the best ways of relating to children and the best way to nurture their development. I very much subscribe to the idea that child carers should help support independence in children by helping children learn to do things like self regulate, assist them in decision making/planning and also other areas like managing conflict. I take a thoughtful approach to my job and the children don't necessarily leave my mind at the end of the day. Nanny Duties - I am well capable of completing all nanny duties and adapting myself to fit the family and children. Each family I have worked with has been different and required different things. However, I can cook, clean, tidy and so on. I can also, where I feel you might benefit, suggest resources. I will also keep a comprehensive nanny diary as best as I can on a daily basis covering activities done, moods, behavior, details of illness and so on. In one family the children have also written in the diary! What ages do I have experience with? - I have experience with children from 9 months - 8 years professionally. However, I do have experience non professionally with younger babies and also training. I have worked with children since 2007 and as a nanny from 2011.What activities will you do? - It is a standard nanny reply to say parks, farms, soft play and playgroups. I have opted for all of those and others including museums, zoos, Brighton in one instance, South Bank, Theatres, Borough market (had a foodie child), Thames Clipper, Golden Hinde, and the Fire engine museum. At home I try best to follow the child's interests and engage with this however this has changed depending on the family, the ages of the children, the needs/talents of the children and what the children need to develop at present. I have supported reading, phonics, school projects, arts, crafts, messy play, baking and other developmental activities. But I am of the mindset that most daily life is an opportunity for context specific learning, any situation can be a learning opportunity. I also feel that my strength lies more in the social/emotional skills and activities surrounding this. A little off topic information - I also have experience doing after school science workshops in schools. I have experience working with vulnerable/at risk children as a volunteer. If you should have a position available please feel free to contact me on here or send me a PM. I can send you a CV and verbal references are available.Warm regards,Lauren Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/89454-nanny-educated-to-postgraduate-level-seeking-pt-role/ Share on other sites
