Firstly, I've not been on the sauce!

Last night at 4am, some bright lights skittered over my skylight above my bed, no sound. I am Colwell Road/Playfield Cres area-anyone else experience this?

It wasn't scary and didn't wake the dog, just intrigued. My first thought was 'drone' but are they noisy?

if it went East --> West, it was probably a plane going to Heathrow and the wind took the sound away so you couldn't hear it. If the window was closed and is double-glazed, perhaps that accounts for any remaining sound you could have potentially heard. the 'skitter' could have been cloud cover, intermittently obscuring the aircraft lights.

Flying saucer. Definitely. :))

I once thought I'd seen a UFO, and it turned out to be a lighthouse light reflecting off my car windscreen.

Not possible in this case I guess unless the flooding has started ....

ETA: Could it have BEEN a cat, with some sort of reflective collar round its neck? Or someone put one of those glo things on it for a joke?

    • There was something to do a with a gate in the Brockwell case, I can't recall the detail, but the council removed a gate, which had been gifted in trust to the park, so the festival builders could allow access, or something. And that was illegal and that's what enabled Rylance et al to litigate.
    • How long is the Gala, and potential new event, disruption….this could be key from the article on the High Court challenge against Lambeth…   Under permitted development rules, a temporary change of use is allowed for a total of 28 days each calendar year, but the Brockwell Park festivals run over 37 days and were due to begin on 23 May.
    • Try the castle upstairs, you'd need to buy a few drinks in return.  @Suecan you advise?  It will be in use some Mondays no doubt
    • Yes, I was bemused to see that notice in Barry Road. It seemed a strange place to be having a drop off point.
