Hi all, 3rd time now somebody has nipped up onto the pavement rally style towards me and 2 small children to get past school traffic at the top of FHR. This is just before the corner junction honor oak park road. Its scary. very instant, drivers make a quick impatient decision and try to do it quick. They know its insane before they do it. Im talking a foot away from my girls. You get to see the passengers face mainly as that side of the car is on you fast. They looked shocked too. Todays idiot had a kid in the back.

Its always chaos up there. The people that park all over the pavement and dble yellow lines up there outside the catholic school just jam it all up. Every known and again you see a few wardens up there. Quite a few mini cabs park there too. Mum stays in back, cabdriver walks child into school. hardcore eh?

So the corner Im tallking about is very jammed as a result of this. Fairlawn school has its own traffic so its a clash up there. Exactly where its becoming lethal.

So, Im getting Rambo'd up about this.

A metal barrier fence (like on the other side) might be an idea. Or a copper up there standing around.

Or me in a suit of flashing lights and a baseball bat looking mean.

Irony here, is theres a small cctv enforcement van just a few yards up with its camera facing the other way. Policing the bus stop and the "do not park here" bit. behind the guys back its going nuts. I mentioned it to the guy. Sadly, a dumbass robot. A droid. Hes only supposed to be watching the bits you can be fine'd on.

When i first realised that road is actually one of the worst roads you could have schools on, the headmaster told me, its true that only when a bad accident happens will anyone take notice.

From what ive seen it wont be an accident. Itll be a murder frankly.

@woodie Cllr Graham has raised speeding and traffic problems in this area with the council a couple of times in recent months but I'll pass this specific case on to both him and Renata (Peckham Rye Labour candidate) as they are both involved with the Community Council Transport sub-committee). The committee met on Weds I think so there might be an update.

@ianr Canonbie, Netherby and Honor Oak Road are all Lewisham but Southwark wraps all the way round to Honor Oak Station but the only properties on the Southwark side of Honor Oak Park are the Oakhill Court flats round the corner behind the school (after the 'Welcome to Lewisham' sign...)

    • It happened again tonight. This time a group of kids ( I hate saying that, because it makes them sound less intimidating than they are), threatened to throw a water bomb at me. When I dared them, they started lobbing them. Then they started saying they were going to kill my dog and one of them jumped over the fence of the Japanese Garden and took a running kick at my dog, who got out of the way. He jumped back over the fence, then came back, came within a meter of me and threw a water bomb really hard at me.  I can't be sure it was exactly the same crowd as last time, though I suspect the male ring leader could be.  The police came and were amazing - as was the park warden - and are fairly confident of the identity of one of them and think they may have tried to arrest him before.  There were maybe as many as 15 of them, aged 16-18, all Caucasian, girls and boys (girls being just as aggressive as the boys). The ring leader is a slight man, dark hair / eyes, possibly with facial hair about 5'6", petite, wearing an all-blue tracksuit.  So please be careful when you're in the park around 6.30 / 7pm. The local SNT have been informed.
