BASMATI.


- Get a pan and chuck basmati rice in it.

- Pour in boiling water and cover rice by a couple of mm.

- Medium heat to get water bubbling, then reduce to low-medium, to burn off/soak up water.

- When water gone but some moisture in the pan turn down to lowest heat (great to have gas, rather than electric for this) and give a quite stir/turnover.

keep on absolute lowest heat stirring / turning over every 5 mins. you need to check rice not burning to bottom of pan, when it is turn heat off.

rice will continue to cook itself from its own heat.

I leave it for like 20-30 for best result.


I do this a 2-3 times a week, it works.


My Pakistani cousin showed me(but I don't put in the spices she does, I like plain white rice, Khao Suway).
