BASMATI.

- Get a pan and chuck basmati rice in it.

- Pour in boiling water and cover rice by a couple of mm.

- Medium heat to get water bubbling, then reduce to low-medium, to burn off/soak up water.

- When water gone but some moisture in the pan turn down to lowest heat (great to have gas, rather than electric for this) and give a quite stir/turnover.

keep on absolute lowest heat stirring / turning over every 5 mins. you need to check rice not burning to bottom of pan, when it is turn heat off.

rice will continue to cook itself from its own heat.

I leave it for like 20-30 for best result.

I do this a 2-3 times a week, it works.

My Pakistani cousin showed me(but I don't put in the spices she does, I like plain white rice, Khao Suway).

    • Thanks Sue.  No the car just drove on.  We don't know if they noticed.  We were driving behind.  We were just glad we could be with the cat, and take him to the vet, rather than leaving him there 😞
    • Certainly the infamous (and mythical) SE London cat killer turned out to be foxes attacking dying and dead cats injured by cars, but fox: cat encounters do appear to happen, even where cats are victorious. Fox: adult humans less so. At least where foxes are the aggressors.
    • That was very kind of you to take the cat to the vet. Did the car not stop?
