Advice on bedtimes wanted

What's a reasonable time for a 12 year old? Any thoughts?

I'd say 8.30/9pm when at school, later in the holidays...depends a bit on the child as I think some need more sleep than others, but I think that is what time my friend's daughters work to.

My 12 year old daughter is in bed by 9pm.

When she gets to sleep is pretty much up to her but I think its about 10ish after chatting on facebook to her school friends who she has chatted to all day!!!!

This is useful, thanks. Hard to strike a balance sometimes, you don't want to be a killjoy but neither do you want a lack of sleep scenario

i would say in bed at 9pm but absolutely no screens after that time, and lights out by 9.30 on school days. this is on the assumption she is up 7am - 7.30am.

My 12 year old goes to bed at 9.15-9.30pm, his 13 year old sister goes at 9.45-10pm, this is considered normal, if not a bit early amongst their friends. Mine are both up at 7-7.15am for school. No problems so far, but we'd revise the times if there was.
