Balance bike or trike?

Hello lovely people of SE22,

Our daughter will turn 3 soon and we're wondering which is best to get her - a balance bike or a trike? Is a balance bike for younger kids? Any recommendations for brands to get which are durable and will last a good while as she grows?

Many thanks in advance!

Hi

Our son has been riding his balance bike since 3 and Loves it. We have an early rider. The heavier version. I think the lighter version may have been easier to use when they're small, but the extra weight probably makes riding easier in the long run.

Hope this helps

Thanks so much for to advice here and in the PMs I've received, it's really appreciated!

We've decided to go with the balance bike option as all of you have said this is the best way to get kids used to bigger bikes.

Many thanks, really appreciate you taking the time to share got thoughts.

Suzie :)

The safest additional security measure is what's called a ghost immobiliser, which cannot be traced through the car's electronics, meaning it is difficult to bypass. They cost a bomb however.
