Alternative to Calpol?

Hello, Does anyone know of any alternative baby paracetamol products, which aren't full of E numbers and sucrose? I have not been precious about giving it to my baby, but now she has had several colds I have observed her behaviour I am pretty sure that on days when she's had regular (5 hour ish) doses all day, she acts very 'hyper' and kind of 'bouncy', usually for a half hour or so just before the next dose is due.

In Holland over 95% of over-the-counter baby paracetamol is sold in the form of suppositories: just paracetamol and (I assume) vaseline. Not sure if you could import it or if it's available here - haven't seen it anywhere, I always bring it back from Holland (don't have enough to start a little shop here unfortunately).

Just googled it and it's available in the UK but very expensive (around ?20 for 10 suppositories). Ridiculous, at home I pay about ?2 for the same number... :(

You can get generic paracetemol syrup from the pharmacy (much cheaper) but not sure what it will have in it. It's eitehr artificial sweeeteners or sugar, is the choice, really...

The suppository that sanne panne refers is called Alvedon and is recommended from aqe 1. It is very expensive, however it is available with prescription for free via your doctors.
