Did anyone else have trouble getting home yesterday? 176 was cancelled (they didn't tell anyone who waited for an hour at the stop..).

And the 12 which was running stopped without prior warning in Peckham ??(I think...don't know S.London well) and there was no way to get to Dulwich. Taxi companies had a 30m-2hr waiting time! I was extremely thankful to a fellow female passenger on her own who arranged for a group who were going in the same direction to walk together...it would have been very scary otherwise.

To add insult to injury was the fact that a number of 'out-of-service' buses sped past us at breakneck speed after they said they weren't going near Barry Road (or anywhere!) as it was "too dangerous".

Why are we always surprised by wintry weather in December in this part of the country?? *sigh*. However, the incident restored my faith in human nature...what a wonderful lady to meet and I hope she and the others made it home safely.

    • I had lots of books to donate to the HH Oxfam bookshop a few months ago.                I phoned them, and they told me I could drive to the rear of the shop, where parking is easy.  They gave me directions, and came out to meet me when I arrived.  They were very helpful, and grateful for the donation. So it's definitely worth ringing them!
    • Called Tessa Jowell GP Surgery today after failing to get two repeat prescriptions from the pharmacy.  When I asked the pharmacy, I was told that they had been requested but not sent by the surgery.  After speaking to the surgery I was told that those two items were no longer on my repeat prescriptions.  I was told I would need a prescription review. Earliest date would be the 22 September.  That is utterly ridiculous.  Surely someone from the surgery should have contacted me to tell me this after requesting the repeat prescriptions two weeks ago.    Also, apparently, there is no point sending an email regarding prescriptions as they are not actioned nor replied to as I have discovered.
    • Erm... guessing it's like any service... so you can receive/be part of something relevant to you in the area where you happen to reside. You don't have to sign up but you might miss out on an excellent Tesco offer or two. 🤷‍♀️
