What Meadow408 said... The going rate for an au pair reflects the recommended max working week of 25 hours including babysitting. This is 42.5 hours PLUS babysitting. And it does not read like an invitation to join a household and become part of the family..

Plus, according to gov.uk the money is supposed to be "pocket money" paid to a de facto member of the family who is helping out with light childcare and duties, not a salary... that is in any case, as already stated, laughable

I used to work as a live in nanny and earned ?300 a WEEK. My brother gives his au pair about ?100 a week for the recommedned 25 hours. There is a difference between the two roles.

This role really does demand a lot for so little money. It's an utter joke!
