1930s bedroom furniture ? one large wardrobe, one small wardrobe, one dressing table with mirror

Beautiful bedroom set originally purchased in 1939.

Produced in London by FW furniture makers, probably of Hackney Road area.

Lovely art deco shapes and styling and grain in the wood ? oak veneer, I think and some solid oak.

A few period wooden hangers also included (see link for photos).

Main wardrobe: height 183 cm; width 120 cm; depth 50 cm

Small wardrobe (including labelled shelves so your man will know where to put his shirts and underwear): height 144 cm; width 80 cm; depth 48 cm

Dressing table: height 65 cm (main body) / 151 cm (including mirror mounted on top); width 127 cm; depth 63 cm (at centre) / 55 cm (on left/right sides)

Some minor scratching and damage to some of the edges of the veneer ? all well within what you would expect from original pieces from this era.

Lots of pictures here:

Selling reluctantly as it doesn?t fit the space in our new house. It?s all on the first floor at the moment in Forest Hill, SE23, and you will need to bring a van to move it. I can help to get the furniture downstairs and into your van but won?t be able to help move/install it at the other end

Selling as a set only - it would be crying shame to split them up after all this time.

    • Not only can he turn olive oil into Vermouth, but also water into a wine. A true miracle worker.  I wouldn't say a wine shop sells a wide variety of things - and there are two right next to each other.  And once upon a time, upmarket pizza shops were very specific. So were burritos etc. They're clearly becoming mainstream; we should consider ourselves lucky to be witnessing this exciting upward trend within our lifetimes and on OUR HIGH STREET. We can tell our grandkids that we remember when there was no internet and no empanadas.  I'm sure that if the family empanada people have a good business head, they'll be able to ride this wave of competition, just like Bruno has.
    • Very economical. Are you available for events? I've got a gathering of 5000 coming up soon. What could you knock up with two little fishes and five loaves of bread? Cod in breadcrumbs? Fish finger sandwiches? Spanish-style croquetas de bacalao with a Romesco sauce? It's BYOB for beer, so there's no need to worry about that and I've managed to do an unbelievable deal on water and wine. Drop me a DM on here or ask for Dave or Jesus (pronounced 'Hay-Zooze') in The Herne, left hand side of the bar.
