good excuse to go to Tokyo though. You sure have done your sums.

thank you everyone for your thoughts, lots of great advice here and some amazing stories and experiences (esp GSJ57 -wow, what a wonderful story)! for me its kinda like...met someone at an expat event 6 wks before I was due to leave the country so never really got to know each other. But had this feeling that I never wanted to lose touch so its been phone calls/text/emails. Difficult to get to know someone via email though! He is now back in Europe but sadly as he is not from the UK is still based in a different country!! Just wanted to hear experiences and views of others xxxxx

btw sorry if my username is misleading (my d.o.b. is most definitely not 1997!!! I am much much much older than that!):)

p.s. woof your post was v.funny, hope you are wrong though...

Absolutely.

I met my wife, who is Canadian in the line up for a Springsteen show in London about 4 years ago.

We clicked almost instantly....

We started of e-mailing and then spent hours on the phone each day....

I took three months off and went to live over with her....just to see if we could stand each other on an everyday basis!

Luckily, it did not put her off me.

We married about a year after we met!

Because of work commitments, financial considerations and her daughter's schooling we have spent three years of our married life meeting in all kinds of wonderful places...

Florida next for Spring break!

Then they move here permanently this summer...

I run my own business and she is a lawyer, so we are lucky we can make all the time we need to see each other....we were able to be together four months of each year at least!

I can imagine it would be more difficult if the relationship was based on just calls and e-mails for much of the year.

Good luck katie - have high hopes for you.

And KidKruger, yes, my post didn't set out to shock. Sex is of course important, but my romantic soul would rather employ a little imagination to be with (however remotely) the person I care about than go out to seek gratification elsewhere.

    • I’m currently conducting exploratory research into menstrual health education in UK secondary schools and would really value the insight of PSHE leads, Heads of Year, or pastoral staff.    The research aims to understand:   How the menstrual cycle is currently taught within the RSHE framework Where schools feel confident — and where there may be gaps Whether students are taught and  asking questions around the full menstrual cycle, symptoms, wellbeing and conditions such as PMS/PMDD or endometriosis How schools support students in feeling empowered to understand their bodies and seek help appropriately Whether education around nutrition, lifestyle, and menstrual wellbeing is currently addressed   The long-term goal is to explore whether there is a need for additional, age-appropriate, medically informed support on the menstrual cycle.  I’m not selling a programme and there is no obligation beyond a 30 minute informal chat online (Unpaid). All conversations will be confidential and used only to inform the research. If you work in a UK secondary school and would be willing to share your perspective, I would be extremely grateful to hear from you. Please comment below or email me [email protected] Thank you for the vital work you do. Best wishes, Emma
    • Nice topic and nice song!  1) Definitely top of Canonbie, looking North. 2) What used to be Francesca Cabrini school at the top of FHR. 3) Honor Oak playground, next to Camberwell New cemetery.
