East Dulwich Grove x Townley Rd (towards ED from Herne Hill)

I got caught in heavy traffic here at 3.30pm today (not usually like this at 3.30pm) and ended up going a different route. Just wondering whether the problem was a random one-off or likely to last longer, as I use this route frequently and need to avoid if the latter.

Traffic was very heavy again this morning going right back to Red Post Hill. It looks like Thames Water (or one of their contractors) are doing some work at the intersection and their are temporary lights.

Yes, there were a series of leaks around the junction towards the end of last week that appeared to be getting worse, so I suspect it's emergency work by TW.

Thanks both. There are 3-way temporary lights along half moon lane, too - perhaps part of a similar problem.

Southwark Council workers don't dig holes in the road.

Was it workers from the "Great people, great work" company?

Cycled past junction around 9.30 pm. Temporary traffic lights and signs have all gone so fingers crossed it will be OK tomorrow.

Still a water filled hole on the pavement with a notice saying work would be finished on 4 March but hopefully no more traffic delays.

But.... Looks like a water leak at start of Red Post hill just south of North Dulwich station. Has been there for several days now.

Update Wed 2 March. Was fine at 8.30 this morning.
