Alert to bike rack users

Heard on LBC that a gang of bike thieves are hacksawing through bike racks and then using (reflective)tape to cover cut, making it look like part of rack. Then when bikes locked to them, they come back, take tape off and bobs your uncle. Thought I'd post this just incase you insane!! Cyclists don't know about it.

I must say I'm almost impressed by the ingenuity of this .But I've had a much loved bike stolen in the past so I'm more interested in keeping bikes safe than wondering at the cleverness of thieves .

my husbands is on his third bike after the first two were stolen one from outside our home the other from his place of work, so thanks for the heads-up.
