millie42
Hello all I would really welcome any guidance people can offer on the best agencies to use, what to look out for and any questions we should be asking. We are total novices so would welcome any information anyone may have. Thanks Michelle Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/9646-nanny-agency-recommendations/ Share on other sites
bjm
We didnt use an agency- We put an advert on Gumtree and got lots of replies- over 90.We described where we lived- our child's age and the hours we wanted per week.We gave an hourly rate and said we would pay tax/NIWe asked for references and full CRB checks. We ended up with a shortlist of five who we met with pre them meeting the kids. Then the two we liked best came and spent a morning with the kids.We also printed off a standard contract from the internet and both signed it.Hope this is of some help! sbain
Hi,I am expecting my first child in April so haven't actually got any experience of nanny agencies as of yet. However a friend of mine recently started this agency http://allweatherchildcare.co.uk, she is great with babies and has given me some great advice during my pregnancy. The agency was also recently recommended by the Good Nanny Guide (which apparently is a big thing in the nanny agency world so could also be worth checking it out).As I say haven't used her myself but she's worked in the industry for years. Cheers,S. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/9646-nanny-agency-recommendations/#findComment-288781 Share on other sites
Sqiggles
I would second the recommendation for Guntree. my recent experience of agencies and has been pretty disappointing! Also ask around - on here, ask friends with nannies to ask their nannies etc etc. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/9646-nanny-agency-recommendations/#findComment-289136 Share on other sites
