From 8?14 February 2010, the humble cupcake will be changing the lives babies born too soon, too small and too sick as people across the UK join together to Cake a Difference for Bliss, the special care baby charity.

Bliss provides vital support and care to premature and sick babies, offers guidance and information to families, and funds ground-breaking research.

We'd love you, your friends, family, colleagues or community to help Bliss to Cake a Difference! We need as many bakers as possible ? expert or enthusiast ? to make and sell their creations. Where and how you tempt your cupcake fans is up to you, but you can get off to a great start with the Cake a Difference fundraising pack full of ideas, advice and a yummy cup cake recipe.

To find out more, download a fundraising pack, and to tell us about your event online, visit www.cakeadifference.org or you can contact us at [email protected] or on 0207 378 5745.

Thanks

Hi Kristy,

It would be great if you could take part! Could you organise a cake sale at your children's nurseries/school? Or at work? Or are you part of any sports clubs, community groups or churches?

Drop me a line if you want to talk about it more [email protected]

HI

I would be really happy to make some cakes to contribute to someone else's sale, but can't actually organise or host a sale myself at the moment (young toddler and big pregnant belly!)

If that's any use to anyone let me know. Sounds like a great cause and a really good idea

    • Beglfire I start, I have a lot of respect for Doctors and owe my life to them after various mishaps over the years.  I am however getting a jaded view of them continuing to run the strike ballot next week in the middle of what is turning into a bad winter for the NHS. Of course they may vote to not strike, but personally feel it is irresponsible timing to consider it as hospitals are already struggling.  Today the BMA warned of scaremongering over the current flu outbreak (BBC News - BMA warns of flu 'scaremongering' ahead of doctor strikes - BBC News https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c5y22yzl6y6o) but just seeing how many people I know are going down with it, that feels like poor spin by the BMA. How do others feel ?
    • We have also used Niko the plumber, he was great, fixed both of our leaking toilets and was also super helpful with advice about the shower leaking.

    • I used Leon yesterday. He was responsive and professional - even giving advice - and his costs are reasonable. Would recommend.
