Qualified, experienced nanny available from JULY

Recommended Posts

Hello.

I am a childcare professional and career nanny. I love spending time with children and helping them to learn, play and develop. I especially like that every child is unique and every day is different! I am an attentive carer who believes in giving children your full attention. Children benefit from my fun nature, genuine enjoyment of conversation, and my positive attitude towards education. I try to make learning as enjoyable as possible and am very creative when making up activities.

I am qualified to Level 2 at the moment and have a Degree in Art (so I love to do arts and crafts!) I am also studying to be an Early Years Educator (Level 3) which I will qualify in by July. I am also paediatric first aid trained, Ofsted registered and DBS checked.

I currently work in a live - in au pair position with 2 boys aged 5 and 6. My duties include: morning routine and school run, general housekeeping, afternoon school run, taking to and from any clubs/ games etc., helping with homework and reading, providing healthy home cooked dinners, and occasionally getting children ready for bed if parents are late back. I also do evening babysitting twice a week, cook for adults regularly and do some full time holiday work where I take the boys on fun outings and organise fun things to do. My contract is up in July and whilst I have built a good relationship with the family, I would like a live out position in future.

In addition to this, I also work in a nursery in the daytime (for my level 3). My role here includes planning and leading a range of opportunities for children to develop in the 7 areas of the EYFS, supporting the children with personal care, assisting with nursery routines eg group time, supervising outdoor play, filling out any paperwork as necessary, communicating with parents and carers and more. I adhere to all nursery policies, in particular ensuring the health and safety of children. I have built positive relationships with the children and am able to assess their progress in order to plan their next steps.

I have years of experience working with children including working in the baby room of a daycare centre, as a nanny with another family (for 2 years), as an arts and crafts leader in various places and in my role as a registered childminder which I have done for 10 years. I am particularly interested in getting a new role with children in the early years, as I find this most rewarding in terms of supporting children in their development.

I am a committed, reliable, proactive professional who will always put children's needs as my upmost priority. I am a friendly, warm and caring person who is also easy for parents to get along with. I am happy to provide references of course.

To summarise what I am looking for:

- full time position (a minimum of 35 hours that can be split across any days/times)

- live out

- child/children under 5 years old

- a position where a driver is NOT required

-start work after 12th July

Please get in touch if you are interested [email protected] - I look forward to hearing from you!

    • It has come to this author’s attention that the world of 4+ admissions — that most enigmatic of educational rites — continues to bewilder even the most composed of parents. Fear not. For in a former life, I was not merely a humble observer, but a seasoned educator of over twenty years, and Head of Pre-Prep for a distinguished dozen. Now, with quill exchanged for touchscreen, I have taken to that most modern of salons — Instagram — to dispense guidance, answer frequently whispered questions, and illuminate the shadowy corners of school selection with clarity and calm. Each post bears my signature twist: a blend of insight, levity, and the occasional raised eyebrow. Should you find yourself adrift in the sea of admissions, I suggest you peruse my latest dispatch. • Perhaps Gooseygreeny was not familiar with the wildlife before Gala was imposed on the park, since when its value to wildlife has deteriorated. The Park had never been disturbed before, as the council had respected it as a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation, so only the Common was licensed by them as a site for events. The first time Gala held their event, there was a tree with woodpeckers nesting in it right in the middle of the main field they used and thrushes, blackbirds and great tits nesting within the shrubs and trees immediately surrounding the field. The woodpeckers were thriving on ants from the anthills in the grass. To those of us who used to enjoy watching the wildlife, it was very obviously a Site of Importance for a variety of birds. Despite being accessed by the public and their dogs, it had been relatively undisturbed,  which was one of the main reasons why it was so special and why I have been opposed to the Gala festival being held during the bird nesting season.
