Perhaps not, but loss of light might be an issue since all the flats face that way.

In any case, kids facilities should be supported in inner cities.

Possibly but it's outside of his ward. South Camberwell I think.

Healey, I doubt even loss of light will cut it. You can see lots of local developments where there is loss of light as well as views but those developments are still being driven through. Think of the studio flats that are being built on small strips of grass on the Dog Kennel Hill Estate. The underpinning rationale is this is the city and homes are needed, so cram 'em in and build 'em high. You may even find play areas are viewed as a luxury if instead homes could be built on that space.

I think the threat might be in their funding -- the council is cutting youth services and they will prioritise their own services (like putting money into Peckham Rye AP) vs. one in the voluntary sector. We need to fight to save our local services, and the DKAP is an important one! Its much more than an AP -- its a sanctuary for a lot of kids.

That's good news. Thanks.

Hello there,

Kate here from Dog Kennel Hill Adventure Playground.

Just to say we are not closing down, so please dont worry.

We are however closed tomorrow, but are back open Thursday & then reopen next tuesday for our Easter Playscheme.

Thanks so much Kate

P.S We appreciate all of the lovely calls & visits we have had making sure we are not closing!

I wish our other posts would get this much attention! this has had over 1000 veiws....our fundrasing/donation posts get about 100 views :(

If everyone who viewed this donated ?40 this would be the whole of our yearly funding that the playground needs....just saying lol

Kate x

I've just made a donation too. My kids have spent many a happy hour racing around the adventure playground having fun with their friends. The team who run the playground are just wonderful and I hope my donation will help with development plans. Thank you, DKHAP!

    • Well, he’s just turned up. 17 days.  very thin and seems a bit traumatised. Presumably been trapped somewhere.  I’d love to know where!
    • I contacted Niko based on ED Forum reviews and he lived up to expectations. I contacted him on Friday and we arranged for him to come check my faulty toilet on Monday morning. Within a couple of hours he had fixed the issue including going to buy the spare parts. He has a no nonsense approach and you know you are in good hands. Highly recommended.
    • Niko's number is 07818 607583 Also here to add a positive review for Niko. Recently moved into a flat that had some terrible plumbing which caused all the outflow from the washing machine to flow out my sink. Was in desperate need of an emergency plumber as was just about to go away too, and Niko responded quickly and came along and helped resolve it without hiked up emergency or callout fees.  After sorting that, also upgraded the shower, and screen in my bathroom which needed replacing; even taking the old materials with him to get rid of.  Really happy with my experience and can't recommend him highly enough.
    • According to the Community Fibre location checker, they don't appear to service the Forest Hill end of Lordship Lane.
