We did a treasure hunt for our daughter's birthday last year (age 8). It was really good fun - took LOADS of preparation which frankly I'm not sure was fully appreciated as all the kids whizzed round the clues in about 10 seconds flat, but I actually rather enjoyed coming up with all the ideas and I do think they all had a good time. The one thing I'd say is that it did take much less time than I thought because they were all literally racing from one clue to the next (we went round East Dulwich in a circular route) so when we got back to our house we were a bit shocked to see the party still had an hour and a half left to run!

We hid clues around the route rather than an actual scavenger hunt so we did a variety of picture clues, word puzzles, secret passwords to say to shopkeepers, that sort of thing. I'd pitch it quite hard just to slow them down, otherwise the ones who get to the clue first just race off to the next one immediately if they don't have to stop and think about it a bit. Have fun (and pray for good weather)!

    • Useful link, thanks. I see that neither of the Dulwich Hill councillors are standing again but one of the new Labour candidates for DH recently left the Lib Dems… The Greens are led by someone who left the Lib Dems and full of people who left Labour. Reform is full of those who left the Tories. And the Tories are full of those who left our planet some time ago. Confused? You will be!
    • I'm sorry to learn that though Liam does seems well qualified. Hopefully with McAsh gone, Southwark Labour will turn to Charlie to fill the gap.
    • As I understand it Charlie Smith did put himself forward for selection in GG but Labour members chose someone else to represent them, Liam McGrath https://southwarklabour.com/our-candidates/   It'll be interesting to see if there are other defections - surely the Greens want a drip, drip, drip of news from now to May suggesting the momentum is with them.
    • Thanks for your feedback - we always appreciate hearing from members about their experience. The pool temperature at JAGS Sports Club is maintained at 29oC, in line with industry guidelines for mixed-use pools.  This temperature has been designed to balance comfort for lane swimmers and families. Air temperature is also monitored regularly to ensure a comfortable environment for swimmers, spectators and staff. The shower Temperature Mixing Valves (TMVs) were changed in December to improve consistency, and we hope this has made a noticeable difference. If you would like to discuss your experience in more detail, please contact us directly at [email protected] or 020 8613 6500 and we'll be really happy to help.
