batgirl
I am currently purchasing a property in Nunhead and have bben told the service charge is ?2000 a year. Could anyone tell me if this sounds right? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/9887-service-charges/ Share on other sites
cate
Do you mean a flat in a block? Who is the landlord? I personally think that is a lot and it will only go up. Have owned a leasehold flat before and sold it. What do you get for 2k? Garage and swimming pool? PeckhamRose
If you are buying a flat in a council block of flats I would recommend joining Leaseholders Association of Southwark.(I do not profit from saying this, but would add I am on the committee.) womanofdulwich
The ?2000 may include a contribution to a fund for future repairs such as roof, ext decorations etc. It can be a good sign so that the works are done and the block is well managed. Ask for a breakdown. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/9887-service-charges/#findComment-294109 Share on other sites
