Cars vandalised

Hi there my girlfriend car was vandalised last Sunday morning around 1am in peak hill ,also around 7 others had keys scraped along them or the wing mirrors smashed off , bill of around ?500 to repair,also heard from my mechanic mate that cars in thickett road had been vandalised as well, looks like having a drop kerb put in is the only way to keep cars fairly safe from these half head vandals

On Friday (18/03) evening at 7pm we had a large piece of kerbstone chucked at our windscreen.

Car parked on drive, SE5/SE22 borders. Group of teenage boys seen running away and caught on CCTV. Reported to Police.

Phoned Insurance company who t/f me to Autoglass immediately, excess paid and promises of no reduction to NCB but of course renewal premium will be affected and that of neighbours. Sigh.

My car was also vandalised on Sunday morning around 4am, Bellenden Road area it was keyed and also had petrol thrown all over it. Reported to police. It has left me with around ?2000 worth of damage.

Insurance is a joke, isn't it.

You pay out for years, then if you eventually have to claim, they up your future premiums to recoup what THEY had to pay out.

It's because, in spite of it not being your fault, you're considered more of a risk.

No wonder people drive uninsured.

I was reading the other day how the car insurance industry as a whole generally makes a loss, and has done over a 30-year period. Even when they turn a profit (2013 & 2014) it is really slender. It's thanks to intense competition that they don't shoot up even further. I wonder how much money we could all save if senseless acts of vandalism were reduced. The cost of 1 minute's damage is crazy.

My Son in laws Ambulance Car had knife in Tyre. This is an emergency Car. the person who did this left blood at the site from the knife coming out at pressure. Hope he didn't need an Ambulance in a hurry.
