Covid test went missing-has this happened to anyone else?

I'm posting this some weeks after the fact mainly because I've been waiting for a resolution on what happened and recieved none.

On 24th Nov due to a coll?gue of mine recieving an alert telling her to self isolate my manager advised me to book at test-the only place I could get one for that evening was at Christal palace.

I was allowed to leave work early to go straight there having booked online and received confirmation of the booking via email and text.

48 hours later no results-my manager said he couldn't allow me back into work until I'd received a negative result (The colleague who'd been told to self isolate had meanwhile tested negative)-Following the guidelines I had meanwhile been self isolating at home since the test, unable to leave the house.

The blurb on the website says not to call about results until 6 days have passed and none have been received

I waited 6 days..phoned the number given went through the relevant questions and after the telephone operator checked some things she confirmed that I had been both scanned IN and OUT of the test centre correctly so she would need to escalate things to find out what had happened to my test and that I should hear something within 3 days.

At this point having no symptoms I persuaded my manager to let me go back to work.

I waited 3 days heard nothing called again-went through the same questions and again was told that yes-the test centre did everything correctly I was scanned in and out so now they would investigate WHERE my test was and why I hadn't got the results.

By this point I was looking into it more out sheer incredulity and anger that something as important and potentially dangerous as a covid test result could just go awol.

I'm 60years old and responsible, I self isolated I didn't gad around while I was awaiting the result-but supposing I wasn't responsible? and had Covid and carried on going out and stuff with no sign of my test result?

I've now phoned 3 times been told same thing we'll investigate-you should hear back within 3 days.

I've still heard nothing.

This isn't good enough!

And if its happened to me it begs the question how many other tests have been lost in the Labs?

I cant blame the centre because it seems they did their job but at some point the chain broke

I'm wondering what percentage of tests this happens with? and what if some of these are positive?

I cant believe I'm the only person this has happened to so I'm putting it out there.

    • Because the council responsible for it is far-left....   And you haven't answered whether it is worth diverting emergency vehicles because a few cars drive through the LTN and why some lobby groups have been so desperate to close it to emergency vehicles.    Emergency services hate non-permeable junctions as they lengthen response times....f you remember it's why the council had to redesign the DV junction because emergency services kept telling them they needed to be able to drive through it...but the council resisted and resisted until they finally relented because the emergency services said their LTN had increased response times....sorry if the truth gets in the way of a good story but those are facts. The council was putting lives at risk because they refused to open the junction to emergency services. Why? What could have been the motivation for that? So, in fact, it was the emergency services who forced the council (kicking and screaming) to remove the permanent barriers and allow emergency services access. So the council finally opened the junction to emergency services and is now coming back to re-close part of the junction.  Why?  Perhaps you should be asking who is lobbying the council to close the junction or parts of it or why the council is happy to waste so much of our money on it - who are they representing as even their own consultation demonstrated they did not have support from the local community for the measures? The results showed the majority of local residents were against the measure...but they are going ahead with them anyway.   In time, I am sure the truth will come to light and those rewponsbile will be held accountable but you have to admit there is something very unusual going on with that junction - its the very definition of a (very expensive) white elephant.
