Lovely Summer PA/Companion/Nanny wanted. Mid July-Early Sept

Recommended Posts

I have a lively 18 year daughter with moderate CP and slow processing skills.

She is a wheelchair user but can walk short distances with a frame and do her own transfers.

She is bright and extremely vocal but processes thought and action very slowly.

She is sometimes quite lonely so needs a programme of fun things to do and see all summer, a PA to dream up activities, accompany her on trips, tell her whats fashionable, help her with cooking and crafts, watch films with, take her swimming, take her to Camden, maybe do some simple exercises and stretching with, generally keep her company and active when she has energy and be there with lunch when she hasn't.

She loves singing, writing, colouring in, music, baking, and needs to learn to cook wholesome suppers for her future at college....

The job could extend to term time weekend days and all school holidays on an ad hoc basis if you get along.

Please let me know if you are interested.

Hiya!

My name is Sam. I'm 24 years old and have 6 years experience in Child Care. I was a kid's party hostess for 5 years with an organization called Project PlayDate. I tutored at a performing arts camp for 4 summers in a row, teaching drama to kids ages 6-17. I've produced and directed a professional children's play. I took care of a 3MTH old and 2 year old (sisters) for a year, until they were 1YR and 3YRS respectively. Your daughter sounds lovely, and so does this job! I have a few questions. Is this a 5 day a week job? Also, what are the hours and your pay rate?

Look forward to hearing from you!

- Sam

    • Did you eat the chicken from the first two purchases?  Did they smell before going into the oven? I’d definitely speak to the shop and also speak to Environmental Health at Lambeth - I think that is the borough that butcher is in. Hopefully ArchieCarlos will do the same.
    • Something doesn't quite smell right here and probably it's not  the chicken. Both the OP and TheWeekEnd specifically mention  chicken thigh fillets. TWE purchased £14 worth of chicken thigh fillets and they were thrown away "probably for the third time". £14 equates to around 12 fillets which is a lot. Could some have been frozen after purchase and then thawed? And thawed properly before cooking? TWE has a total of 4 posts of which 3 are on this thread.
    • Thanks to all for the advice, very glad to have this community for these enquiries. Here is how it got resolved in case its useful for anyone in the future: I had ordered some garden waste bags, and when the Veolia person came around I just asked them, and they were more than happy to take it no questions asked. 🙂
    • I keep seeing a thread 'missing cat', but you've been found.  Not sure if all would consider that a good thing.  Not a lot new happening ....  When you back in Blighty?
