Rehoming our cats because of son's asthma

Recommended Posts

We might have to find a new home for our two long-haired Norwegian forest cats as my son has developed asthma which seems to be triggered by cat fur...

Don't really want to put them in to an adoption centre but unsure on how to go about finding them a new home.

Has anyone here had to do something similar?

Thanks for replying I absolutely adore these cats but I have 2 rescue moggies so realistically no can do . I do hope you resolve the problem . Sometimes children can develop a tolerance to the allergen which may be a cause of the asthma.Sue

Have you tried using Petal Cleanse? More info here:

I have a cat allergy, and we have a cat. Initially I was pretty bad, but it didn't take long for me to get used to having him around and my allergy doesn't flare up at all around him. I grew up in a house with a cat as a child, and tended to be fine with our cat, but very allergic to "strange" cats.

Petal Cleanse is worth a try if you haven't already used it.

Good luck.
