Getting au pairs insured on your car. Help!

Recommended Posts

Please forgive the 'first world problem' nature of this message, but has anyone managed to insure an au pair who has just arrived in the country to drive their car? Are there any companies that will do this? It's kinda crucial to our whole childcare set up in Sept.

Thanks for any advice!

Yes. It actually turns out to be harder later on because my insurance company restricts driving on an EU licence to first two years in the UK.

But getting insured at the start, it was fine. She was 23 though, held the licence two years

Hi

We were with Esure when our au pair started. She is EU and at 23 had been driving for 5 years but they still would not insure her. We ended up with admiral who gave us a very reasonable price given the engine size of the car we were surprised.

thanks
