any local car hire recommendations?

Hiya

Any local car hire recommendations? I need a car for one day to get to a work event near Gatwick - looked at enterprise etc and they're quoting around 80 for 2 days as I will need to pick up the day before and drop off the day after due to timings - wondered if anyone knew of anywhere local i can walk to and pick up and drop off the same day?
