Court Lane Taped off police incident

What was happening in Court Lane and The Village last night? About 9.15 I drove past C and G to see an ambulance and police then drove into Court Lane which was taped off with two ambulances and police . Were they connected looked serious.

two teenagers on a scooter pursued by police, big crash. One boy looked to have a serious head injury and very broken leg.

More police than I have ever seen and what looked like some serious crash investigation.

I hope the kid is ok.

A cyclist was involved in an accident outside the pub - ambulances there etc, then around the corner up court lane more tape and more ambulances and the police said 'RTA'.

I jumped to conclusions and assumed it was too much of a coincidence in a usually sleepy village and that perhaps a vehicle involed in the cyclist had done a runner and tried to escape up court lane but crashed. but that's total guess work!

maybe the scooter kids casued the cyclist incident outside the pub?

I think the incidents were unconnected as we saw the police chase and scooter crash. Unless of course the scooter kids had just been involved in the cyclist accident.

supposedly the police had been chasing the scooter as the kids were two up with L plates and helmets not properly on.

I thought the police weren't allowed to chase kids on scooters any more in case this kind of thing happened? (note - not sure I agree with this but definitely heard it somewhere)
