Bruce subtitled this ride Four Parks and a Prison. Somehow I don't find that as attractive as it might be.

However, more comfortingly let me tell you this ride is flat. It lasts 2 hours and everyone is welcome, just turn up with your bike for an easy-paced, sociable, ride on mostly quiet streets and paths.

It starts and finishes in Peckham Square (SE15 5JR). Starts 10am and finishes 12 noon. The Square is the big space between Peckham Library and Peckham Pulse. On fine day riders usually meet up on the crescent shaped metal bench at the foot of the Arch steps. On less fine days, I guess they are more likely to stay at home.

The route starts at the foot of Surrey Canal Path and the leader will show you a safe way around the bridge closure. Then it's through Burgess Park; Archbishops Park via Brook Drive; Lambeth Walk; Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens (not as much fun as they used to be); Vauxhall Bridge; Millbank which is the site of old prison for Poms awaiting transport to Australia; Vauxhall Park to visit to model village; and Kennington Park.
