I wanted to post a recommendation for Prestige Build who we have recently used to extend our property. We are extremely happy with the results and now have a beautiful home from top to bottom. We also found them to be a fantastic set of people to work with.

We moved into our terraced Victorian house two and a half years ago knowing that we would eventually want to do some extension work to it. We planned to extend the kitchen into the side return to create a large kitchen diner/family space as well as adding a fourth bedroom in the loft. It was important for us to find a company that would not only create the extra space but also provide us with something truly unique, a legacy that would continue long after the builders had left. After a fairly exhaustive search of suitable firms, we settled on Prestige having seen first-hand a complete renovation job that they were in the process of completing on Sylvester Road. We were invited to have a look round by a very friendly site manager and were immediately struck by the attention to detail across the job; from the pride he took in revealing the detailing of the pipework running to the new underfloor heating system to the cleaned and repointed exterior brickwork, everything had been tackled with an obvious level of care and integrity.

After contacting Prestige we met the owner, Jay Gentle, who patiently explained the processes involved, delivered a detailed breakdown of costs and put us in touch with a local architect and an engineer that they regularly work with. We were able to completely tailor the brief to suit both budget and scope and Jay and his team, as well as the architect and structural engineer, worked seamlessly to put together a detailed plan for the build. The house was to be reroofed, the ceilings were to be lowered in the upstairs bedroom, a dormer loft extension was then to be added. We were also going to demolish the existing kitchen and a new, larger room built from the foundations up complete with floating ceiling and no unsightly support pillars. There was also a plethora of supplementary work. All in all it was an enormous job.

However, once work commenced we had a team of expert builders and assorted specialists on site ten hours a day, six days a week, all under the instruction of our fantastic site manager, Daniel. Jay made himself available whenever we needed him to come to the house and talk through issues or proposals in person and he also updated us at a weekly site meeting as to the progress of the work. Being a Victorian house, there were, of course, a number of unforeseen circumstances. Damp in the kitchen and cracked brickwork in a shared party wall amongst other things. However these were dealt with in typical professional fashion without any impact on the schedule. Extra help was drafted in whenever necessary and the whole process, from start to finish, ran extremely smoothly. We had to pause work a few weeks before completion to have our baby and Jay was sensitive to our needs, ensuring that the house was clean and tidy when we returned from hospital. When work did start up again, we barely noticed the builders coming and going.

All in all the experience was a good one. Undeniably it was a big project and the work took just over six months, including some time off over Christmas. But the end result is simply amazing. Jay and his team have created a unique space that is nothing short of wonderful. We have since had estate agents round to value the house and the one overriding comment that comes back is that the extension work is the best they have seen on a property in East Dulwich. This is testament in itself. If you are considering doing some work to your property, look no further than Prestige Build. I would use them again without even thinking about it.

I would second this recommendation. Jay and his team at Prestige build have completed a number of jobs in our house ranging in size from the building of cupboards to a full roof replacement. Every job was done to a very high standard and Jay is very straightforward to deal with.

Another recommendation for Prestige. They've done a massive amount of work on my house to a very high standard. Because they only work in this area, if you need them for anything urgently they can generally have someone with you within the hour.

I also used Jay and his team a couple of years ago for bathroom, damp proofing cellar, electrics and putting in new double glazed units. His plumber and electrician were extremely good

I spent a lot of time searching the forum looking for recomended builders I thought I should post my own recomendation.

Prestige Build & Management Ltd recently completed a major renovation/reconfiguration of our flat in East Dulwich. When embarking on the project I was very apprehensive of any builders due to various negative stories and watching to many episodes of Cowboy Builders on TV!

Although we received a number of recommendations from previous clients we were still apprehensive due to the scale and complexity of the proposed work. The final outcome of the project has exceeded our expectations and has provided us with an amazing living space while at the same time adding value to the property.

Due to the nature of the old Victorian flat there were a number of issues that arose during the demolition phase which we hadn?t accounted for but the team were really helpful in fixing these issues ensuring everything was completed to the best standard possible.

Jay and his team felt like a really good down to earth team to work with which allowed a really good working relationship to develop and allowed useful discussions at the weekly site meetings with the Jay and the site manager.

The builders were also very considerate of our neighbours during the build which was a concern for us and as my wife was pregnant during the project they always made sure she was ok when visiting the site or during meetings.

Working as a professional engineer I was very impressed at the quality and design of the mechanical and electrical systems which were undertaken by the Prestige team. The have used high quality products and materials throughout which has really given the flat a high quality finish.

Prestige were also very flexible with any changes during the build and in many cases helped to make decisions on configuration and layout using there experience of other projects to allow the best use of space.

Many of the initiatives proposed by the team went beyond what we had originally considered which in many cases involved more work. Considering many of these decisions were at the cost of the builder it just shows there attitude and commitment to a high quality finish.

If you want a quick cheap project then they might not be the most suitable but if you want a high quality finish with a great working relationship then I would defiantly recommend them.

I want to highly recommend a local firm of builders, Prestige Build, who have recently completed a project refurbishing the kitchen and installing a downstairs toilet in our Victorian family home. Prestige arranged everything from the design involving a structural engineer, through to the building work, kitchen installation, plumbing, electricals, plastering and decorating. Their team from the initial point of contact with Jay, down to a brilliant collection of tradesmen on-site, led by Daniel, remained courteous, focused, reliable, fully committed and responsive. We used Prestige Build for our loft conversion between August & December 2014. They were a recommendation from a friend and we were not disappointed.

Prestige are a local company who pride themselves on quality and a high level of customer service. Right from the start we were impressed with its owner, Jay Gentle. He came for the first meeting and went through all our options. We were then given a detailed, itemised quote of all the work and costs involved. We could then tailor our needs to our budget and work forward together accordingly.

They were with us for 16 weeks in total. The loft was completed after 12, but we added on extra jobs once we realised the quality of their work (staircase, roof). They were efficient and hard-working and I can honestly say that during that time, there was at least one person if not a team on site EVERY day 6 days a week for the whole period bar three occasions; and on those mentioned, once I had called Jay, there was someone here within hours.

The standard of their work is high, with attention to detail and quality of finish. We have had no problems (fingers crossed) since the job was completed over 15 months ago. The only snagging they came back to repair were redecorating the settlement cracks.

The Prestige Build team were all polite and friendly and genuinely a pleasure to have around. I was at home every day during the build, with two young boys (one at school, one toddler) and pregnant with another. They were professional and considerate to my situation. One day when emotions were running high Jay even brought round a Blackbird Bakery chocolate cake. That may sound silly to some but I took it as a personal touch to show that he just really cares that he/his company leave a good job and a good footprint.

What I will say when I recommend these guys to people, is that even if they are not the cheapest quote you 100% get what you pay for here, both in quality of work, timescales and just genuinely nice guys to have around your home.

I just wanted to take a few minutes to leave a recommendation for Prestige Build & Management who recently completed a full renovation on my one bedroom flat in Denmark Hill. From beginning to end the team was great to work with and I trusted them completely. Given I was living in a different country at the time of the renovation it was important that they were very trustworthy and easy to contact. The estimate given to me was detailed and fair and they stuck to the estimated costs. The only overages were for works that I decided on after the estimate was completed, or genuine issues that came up during the renovation. I was assigned a project manager who was always available for calls and emails and who worked closely with me to make sure my needs were met. The quality of the work was superb, and was delivered exactly as promised, they even suggested things that would increase the value of my property. I can't recommend them highly enough. Even more critically, after the job was done, and they had already received all of their payment, they have still been responsive to calls and have worked quickly to fix the small issues that tend to come up after a major renovation, once you actually start living in the property. If you want a building company who will do great work, be honest with you, who doesn't cut corners and who makes sure all building permits/licenses are approved and legal, who you don't have to watch every second of the day then I wouldn't think twice about going with Prestige Build & Management ltd.

I am happy to recommend Prestige Build of Lordship lane with main contact Jay Gentles. They tackled my renovation project in Camberwell which took almost a year and I am pleased with their work. The new pitched roof, the speedy plasterer and renderer, helpful electrician Matt, decorator Carl and the excellent carpenter. Also Kris who transformed my back garden and made it a lighter and brighter place and easier for me to manage.

I am very pleased to recommend Prestige Build & Management. We used just used them to build a rear extension and remodel the entire ground floor of the house, and we are very happy with results. We initially chose another company, but lost confidence in them during the design phase which put us off using them to do the build as well. We put the contract out to tender again, met with Jay and were impressed from the get go. He was very knowledgeable and offered some great suggestions that the original company and architect hadn't thought of, and also talked us out of several things that we had been persuaded to do, which in hindsight would have been big mistakes. The quote wasn't the cheapest, but you definitely get what you pay for. I only wish we had used them from the beginning as it would have saved a lot of time, hassle and money. Prestige build and management undertook a complete renovation of our Victorian house in Plumstead last year. We found every member of the team a pleasure to work with. The quality of each of the trades - tiling, electrics, plumbing and building was excellent. The team were interested in achieving the aesthetic we wanted and advised us on some of our slightly naive ideas and material choices to deliver what we wanted. The whole team were clean, efficient trustworthy and personable. The office team were also really efficient and helpful to deal with. They were willing to work with us when we had cash flow issues with the bank which, on a major project, is invaluable for any home owner. We also had significant regulatory issues with a basement conversion and Jay and his team persevered to get the project completed despite the obstacles. I would say that price wise they are on the upper end of the spectrum but you get the quality and service you pay for and for us it was worth every penny.

Having just completed our front garden and re-shaping of front wall. They did a perfect job on our side return in 2016 and we have another perfect completed project on Amott Rd. Prestige always pick up on the little design features that comes from experience and well thought out design and management.

We used Prestige Build and Management to design and build a side return extension and remove some chimney breasts on the first floor of our house. The standard of work was very high and we are so pleased with the result. We would use them again.

Prestige did everything from provide us with an architect right through to build and decorate. We had a clear idea of what we wanted to do, which wasn?t the ?standard? side return, and they were really happy to work with our ideas and help us achieve what we wanted. They guided us through what would and wouldn?t work and also gave us different options and ways of moving forward, as well as ideas we hadn?t thought of, with all costs made clear.

We used Prestige Build to do a fairly major project on our house which involved replacing pretty much every floor, wall and ceiling in the property as well as lowering the ground floor throughout, replacing entire foundations and doing a side return extension.

Jay and the team were exactly what we wanted from a build team in terms of being professional, hard working, proactive and thoughtful during the entire project. Whilst the quote was not the cheapest we received, we felt very much that we that the service and level of finish comfortably justified the cost. The team always provided detailed works breakdowns so we were always up to speed as a result. For us as a family with busy working lives it was crucial that we worked with experienced builders who were not only take the time to listen and understand our requirements, be responsive and professional, but also give us the benefit of their knowledge throughout, which they did.

A second vote of confidence for Jay and the team at Prestige. We had a smaller project undertaken (a spare room and two bathrooms renovated) but the positives flagged above are very familiar. Jay was quick to communicate during the project and also advise on areas throughout (which helped us, as we both needed some guidance).

The team were very hard working and co-ordinated. Equally, they were tidy and respoectful of other parts of the house when undertaking work. The overall finish is excellent and we have confidence that the build and work has been completed in a way that should give very little fuss going forwards.

We'll certainly look for the team's support again in the future and are very pleased we werent tempted with some lower priced quotes we had at the outset, which may have left us not feeling as positive about the outcome or process.

Prestige Build have just completed a kitchen renovation in my Victorian terrace. This also involved the moving & replacement of the boiler, damp proofing and some electrical work. The project was well coordinated, finished on time and to an excellent standard. The contractors were all very professional, respectful and hard working. I would not hesitate to recommend this company and I would happily use them again for any future projects.

They recently completed a side return extension for us on our Victorian terraced property, along with an entire bathroom renovation, removal of a chimney, repositioning and rerouting our boiler, completely replacing joists in the first floor, and repairing our roof. And we are incredibly happy with the results. 

What you get with Jay and Prestige, first and foremost, is peace of mind. From the offset you can notice the difference. A thorough face-to-face discussion about what we wanted to achieve was followed up with a detailed and comprehensive quote. Yes, they're expensive, but that's because a) they don't hide any costs to surprise you with later, and b) their level of finish is incredibly high. It's fully worth it. 

Throughout the project Jay was attentive, jumping on any concern we had there and then. Equally, when the inevitable bumps in the road happened (tiles from Turkey = not a good idea), he was understanding and accommodating, finding solutions and making sure we were happy at all times. 

The crew were fantastic, very hard working, and considerate of our neighbours. 

We would not hesitate to recommend Prestige to anyone considering doing work to their house. We now have a kitchen we are very proud of, and love living in. 

Prestige managed our build which included a loft conversion, bathroom which included knocking 2 rooms into one and opening up the kitchen - including repurposing a garage as a utility room. Jay and his team worked hard to keep things on schedule maintaining a high quality finish. They are a great team that were very respectful, friendly and polite with a good eye for detail. 

We lived in while they worked in the top, middle and bottom of the house, Jay managed the build to minimise disruption in the areas that we needed to keep in use. They were always very respectful of that, keeping the bits we were living in tidy and clear of materials.

I would definitely recommend them. 

We have used Prestige Build twice now, both major projects, and highly recommend. We did a side return in 2017 which has completely transformed our house. They listened to how we wanted it done, which was different to others on the street, and did a fantastic job. Great communication throughout, polite and friendly builders and gave advice and options on building issues when needed. The build quality is really good and has been commented on by many people. We have had no issues with the side return and it is now almost 7 years old. 

Due to the high quality finish and ease of working with them on the side return, we got them back to extend our loft, remove a chimney stack and repair our roof. The end product is once again fantastic. They managed to give us more headroom than we previously had, replumb so we no longer relied on macerator toilet, widened the staircase, without losing space below, and built a good sized extra room. Snagging issues were minimal and dealt with swiftly.
