Serena Rowe is a figurative painter based in South London.
Her work exudes an innate love of paint and the act of painting: she works quickly and instinctively, painting in intense bursts in order to capture a fleeting and exact feeling. She has always been drawn to the natural world, to found images, to childhood toys and uses them as a starting point to explore her emotional state.
Serena trained at the Florence Academy of Art, following graduation from the University of Edinburgh in 2000. More recently, she completed the postgraduate Drawing Year at the Royal Drawing School. She exhibits her work regularly in the UK, including the RA Summer Show, New English Art Club (NEAC) annual exhibition and in the Scottish Show at Panter & Hall.
Soon Comes Night is the second solo show to be held at the gallery for Serena Rowe.
