if you have safeguarding concerns, please contact social services. Unfortunately, financial abuse of the elderly is an ongoing problem. In my professional life I investigated a large number of cases where the elderly person lived alone and was befriended by helper/carer/gardener/ church visitor etc. However, this may not be the case in this instance. -
Was shopping in the big Tesco the other day, got to the tills to find all the staff on the manual tills had gone home and that there was only ONE automatic cash machine actually working. Massive queue, each customer was taking over 10 minutes which was extended by individual complaints of clubcard offers not being honoured and the staff blindly telling the customers they were lying and said customers having to prove themselves by walking to the shelves where the offers are clearly displayed. Even more infuriating when one woman hogged the machine for half an hour and paid with card! On the only working cash machine! Told the staff, no apology, he just rolled his eyes and walked off. Absolutely ridiculous. -
