  1. Some ******* has seriously scraped the paintwork on the rear bumper of my car. Can anyone recommend a local car paintshop that could have a look and quote? Thank you!
  2. Hi all... am having a small pre book day breakdown, as youngest son wants his turn as Harry having now read the books. I've found the glasses, scarf and wand, but despite emptying out all the wardrobes, cupboards - I've even been under the beds - cannot find his cloak or tie. Does anyone have either of these that they wouldn't mind lending to us for Thursday. Would be eternally grateful!! Thank you!
  3. Help mum's! I'm looking after a friends 2 year old tomorrow, and looks like rain... What can I do with him local that's indoors? Is the 1 o'clock club in Peckham rye still open? Any ideas gratefully received!
  4. Super thanks all - great suggestions, fingers crossed!

  6. I have been double booked at the venue I had held on the 30th Jan so need an alternative...!! Ideally I'd find somewhere that would be happy to let us be there early evening. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks so much.
  7. Hello. I've purchased a viola on-line as a Christmas gift, and it has arrived without the bridge being fitted. Anyone know where I could take it locally to get done? Thank you.
  8. Hi all, I'm absolutely delighted that this has come into place. Sadly my summer born boy missed out on this deferral option, but had we been able to, I *absolutely* would have kept him back a year. My son has just finished year 3, and this has been the first year that he has actually enjoyed school (for enjoyed, I mean he didn't cry everyday at having to go), and we put that down a lot to him having to go to full time school when he was too young and not ready. Although he is friends with all the kids in his class, no matter when their birthdays are, there *is* a huge difference between him and the older children/boys, just because they ARE older (& mostly bigger), they were better at speaking and expressing themselves when they started school so got *heard* more, they got more attention - and that has had a huge impact on how he sees himself and how he is treated, and even how he compares himself to his peers. He also started in reception in the year that only one point of entry in the September was introduced - a complete waste of time for him - he slept through most of it! I had to collect him from the reading corner where he was fast asleep pretty much everyday during that first term! ...and a note to add, that this does not seem to be the case for the younger girls in his class. School just seems to be much better suited to girls, well to those girls that are able to sit still and listen! MUCH trickier for little boys! Good luck everyone.
  9. I hope someone out there can help... we are taking our kids to the Secret Cinema star wars event on Wednesday, and ALL need to be in costume...! We're short of a girls outfit (9-10 year old) and adult costumes...Has anyone got a long robe (think Obi Wan Kenobi) or some such other cloak type thing that we could borrow tomorrow/Wednesday!?! Thanks so much!!
  10. Sorry Green Goose, I don't find it at all offensive. I think this is really innovative advertising - caught my attention, in a very positive way. Why are you on such a personal vendetta against this woman trying to start her own business - I think she should be applauded. She's employing staff and contributing to the local economy. I just wish I could afford a cleaner myself! Publically naming her is really inappropriate.
  11. Am thinking of getting my daughter (8) an eReader - specifically the Kobo mini - for Christmas. Has anyone else bought something like this and have any comments - pros/cons?? Thanks.
  12. My washing machine has leaked over the wooden parquet style kitchen floor, which is now starting to raise up and break where the water saturated through. Does anyone have a de-humidifier we could borrow, or know where we could hire locally to start the drying process? Thanks!
