Not sure that sash windows are robust enough to be converted to doors.

The woodwork and joints are meant for gliding up and down in a fixed rail (the ?box?) whereas doors move, bear weight at the hinge and get slammed.

Also the glass in a sash window is probably not a robust enough grade to support slamming of a door, etc.

REALLY ?

first thing would be the size

Then appearance

Then labour cost

It's a lot of work

Then I thought...

If you use the glass and build a different frame ....

Interesting

Then still time and labour cost

Cost of wood

Fittings ...

Still looks like ?300

........

Recycling and save the planet reason only

Cos it's not economical

Doable

Expensive

Impractical

And if used as front door then easy to break through

Or if secure enough then even more ?'s to spend

Is this really worth it ?

So let's go back to the original question I e asked myself ...

"REALLY " OR my next thought

"WHY" ?
