messageRoxy - Russian Blue cat - dietary needs
Posted by Caesi01 16 November, 2019 22:01

To anyone who might have come across Roxy from Pellatt Road:
We have not seen her in a few days now.
Sheís a lovely cat and we are very fond of her. But please do not feed her (or give her shelter)as she has special dietary requirements.
Thank you

I saw her yesterday morning in front of my house, on Silvester Road. It was around 8:30am.

Good to know as she sometimes comes to my house and eats my cat's food!! I'll make sure that she does not in the future. (What type of food does she eat? I give my cat digestive from Royal Canin.)

Is she back yet?

She is smiling smiley
I saw her in my street, ran out, grabbed her (gently of course, she knows me and comes running when I call her) and brought her back to her house.

Yes. Thanks. And back on her diet, as prescribed by the vet.
She tends to stay away when finding food elsewhere.

Has she gone AWOL again?

messageRe: Roxy - Russian Blue cat - dietary needs
Posted by Caesi01 10 December, 2019 20:00

Yes.
She tends to come back for food and especially during rain itís rare for her to stay away.

Is there a reason she's not settled at home... other than her fondness for 'take outs'?

Iím pretty sure that I saw her in Landcroft rd at around 9 this evening. Has she turned up yet?

Only concerned she is being fed elsewhere, which wouldnít be good.

Yes. She has been back. But she has put on considerable amount of weight which we have been told by our vet is a concern. I ask anyone not to feed her. Thank you

She has been diagnosed as diabetic. Please donít feed her.
Thank you for your help.

Thanks. Thatís most likely Roxy.
We would just like to ask the community to not feed her or take her in. She then comes back home

How much attention is your cat receiving at home? I have to ask, because understimulated cats tend to over eat & will wander elsewhere, into other peoples homes, if they feel they have very little reason to stay. - this is just my 2 cents as a feline behaviourist.

Please do not give her shelter, food or any attention.
She now stays away from home for several days without even coming back for food.
PLEASE do not feed her. She has a special diet at home.

thank you

She was in our road yesterday. Is she missing again?

messageRe: Roxy - Russian Blue cat - dietary needs
Posted by Caesi01 May 17, 07:51PM

Not missing, sheís around but just doesnít come home for food or sleep.
I see her on the road and Iím a firm believer that cats should roam.
Which makes me wonder where she gets her food from.
If it continues I will have to look her inside which I donít want to do.

You did not answer my question.

If all you are giving is food, water & shelter, they are very likely to wander & settle where they feel more wanted. Cats require regular stimulation. That means they need attention; social interraction; cuddles &/or play. You can't expect them to hang around otherwise. Sorry.

Cats will choose their owners, just as they choose their favourite member of the household. If I am wrong, then I would suggest putting a note on the collar as they're obviously not here on this forum because you've been repeating the same message since Novemeber.

Does your cat have a do not feed collar on? Iíve been hearing loud meowing outside my door over the lockdown regularly. Last night one of my children fell asleep on the sofa so I was downstairs very late. There was loud meowing and clawing at the front door. I opened my front door and the cat shot straight into my house. Although a little cautious, after a good sniff of us then really enjoyed lots of petting. I did not feed her as I noticed the collar. She had a good roam around the house sniffing everything out. The cat really did not want to leave. My son woke and fell in love with her! I was all too aware that the cat belongs to someone so I left the front door open for her to wander out. This took quite a while she found a chair in the kitchen and curled up! Eventually she left but it didnít feel like she wanted to go at all. This morning I was woken by the cat continually crying at the door. So I eventually went down and it shot straight into the house and made herself completely at home! Again I didnít want to keep her in the house for too long as I thought an owner might be worried about her. I thought she might be missing but this thread seems to explain her situation. Sheís absolutely gorgeous!

There is a young cat outside my house on Ulverscroft Rd. She ?? tried to dash into my house this morning 08.30
She looks lost ?

She has a DO NOT FEED Collar and a Device that looks like it may trigger a electronic cat flap.

See attached Piccy
