Theft of BT copper wires on Lordship Lane

Recommended Posts

BT are investigating the theft of copper wires from a manhole on Lordship Lane between The Plough and Friern Road sometime this morning (not sure of the time but I think before or around 9am) causing phone line disruption on some parts of the Lane. The perpetrators were disguised as BT staff so it might be hard for them to be distinguished from the legit chaps now repairing the damage. The Network Investigation Officer would appreciate any info: [email protected]

    • The last I heard was that an artificial wood is being used for the superstructure. I believe the bridge was rebuilt sometime in the 1980s so it’s evident that natural wood does not last very long in such a damp location. This alternative material is coming from Australia and has been delayed due to the Red Sea being closed and international shipping being diverted around the Cape.
