  1. Hi yes I have done speed tests. As mentioned they are always pretty high but the zoom connection still cuts out. It appears to be the latency but just wondering if anyone knows if that causes screen freezes and also how to stop (if that?s possible) spikes in the latency. Ie can i buy a mesh network to improve things, increase the speed (which i guess wouldnt stop the occasional increase in latency) or do i need to change provider. Thanks a lot you computer whizzes!
  2. Feels like there are some experts on here so, if you dont mind, some of the points raised are something i am looking into it at the moment. I have a 100mbs line with virgin. Speeds are always very good but when I use Zoom on my laptop for work related meetings it usually cuts out/freezes at least once for around 10 seconds or so. Not a huge amount of time but not great when i am talking to clients. I installed some software that monitors the broadband and it seems that the latency spikes typically once an hour. It doesnt happen when I switch to using my mobile phone as a personal hotspot. I am in the loft room using the WiFi from the router directly below me in my front room (as mentioned the speeds are around the 100mb/s mark). My question is can the cut out of zoom be due to latency? Would i solve this issue using a mesh network with a mesh box in my office room to make a signal effectively closer? Could it be the way my wifi is set up? Or do i need to change provider? Will this issue go away if i increase the speed (assuming the same latency) to say 200mbs with virgin? Thanks so much! Not very accessible topic!
  3. Hi there, I need a 16 seater minibus for a 45min-1hr journey in a few weeks. A few companies out there but looking for a recommendation if possible. Thanks a lot
  4. Definitely get in touch with Kate Selwood! Fantastic local PT in SE London. https://www.sustainable-fitness.net/

  6. Hi - can anyone recommend someone local that they have used for divorce work in our local area? Feel free to DM if you would prefer! Thanks a lot
  7. Hi there, Can anyone recommend a local will writer? Solicitor or just will writer is fine. Thanks a lot
  8. Hi there, Our ikea oven broke last week (pretty sure its just a heating element as the mains fuse box tripped) and so doesn?t heat up. It?s slightly out of warranty so need to get it fixed. I was just wondering if anyone had found someone local who could fix an IKEA oven and could recommend them. Thanks a lot
  9. Our green bin went ?missing? last Tuesday. We have ordered another one but no joy in it arriving yet. Does anyone in the Upland/Underhill Road area have any space in their Green bin for a bag of household rubbish to tide us over until it arrives? Would massively appreciate it.
  10. Hi Arja - sent you a PM
  11. I know there are lots of local businesses delivering food having had to change business models to survive. I know that looking at the forum some of those are struggling to deliver all orders taken in a timely fashion. If anyone wants an alternative, check out spiers salads. Full disclosure they are owned by my wife?s cousin who lives in brockley but we have ordered fruit and veg through them and its great. I know others who have as well and reviews have been very good. http://spierssalads.com/ They used to run salad bars in the city and like others they have had to adapt, or indeed die. They too were struggling a bit to keep up with the incredible demand but have since joined forces with a delivery company (who themselves have had to adapt from their original model delivering food to restaurants) to increase capacity to around 500 deliveries a day to south east london (inc SE22!). Monday is full but Tuesday has space. Check them out. Stay safe everyone.

  13. Steve came around after I saw the recommendations on the forum. Very nice guy. We had a radiator leak badly on the carpet in our bedroom. Steve was honest and said he wasn?t sure it would come out but managed to get the stain out! Very pleased. Would definitely recommend and will use his services again.
  14. Sorry to hear about the burglaries everyone... We were also burgled recently, on new years eve just gone. Overnight in fact, while me and my family were upstairs. Very similar to Daniel with coats and stuff and anything near to the front door taken. Thankfully aside from an ipad, nothing of real value. All aside from the ipad was discarded in the streets around where we live and thanks to the forum, everything returned. The major similarity/lesson to everyone here is how we also hadn't double locked the door. We hadn't double locked it in the 5 years we have lived in east Dulwich so I think we were definitely riding our luck and now definitely DO lock it religiously. John L - you can get the locks that are a key to open from the outside of the property but just a knob to turn to unlock from the inside. I have heard that they are often not good enough for insurance companies but, I think in the case when people are in the house, burglars are really only opportunistically looking for when double locks are not done so I would have thought this would have been enough.
