We have a canvas Albatross tent - De aWard which we love but the zip from one of the front entrance doors has broken. Does anyone have any recommendations for a place that will be able to replace the zip? Thanks in advance.

KS 1 literacy and handwriting support
aguacate replied to midivydale's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Sunshine House (Southwark Child Development Centre tel. 020 3049 8100) used to have a 'Doodling club' to improve hand writing ran by Occupational Therapists, it was a helpful group. I am unsure if it is still running as i am aware lots of services have been cut due to lack of funding. It might be worth exploring or asking your GP for a referral to assess fine/gross motor skills as that assessment could inform school and also might be helpful at home to make some minor adjustments that could make a significant difference. -
Ring HQ customer services (Freephone 0800 0686 727)They have been responsive when I have rang them to complain in the past. Many of their stores are franchised I think and very poorly managed. It is a pity as I agree they do good work and they are more ethical than other big supermarkets.

Painter recommendations please for outside of house
aguacate replied to Bobbaz's topic in Request a Tradesperson
se15mum it appears to be that way. I have had a couple of terrible experiences lately with EDF. It is a pity that I can no longer trust EDF for traders as it is difficult to know who is recommending and who is 'pretending' they have had work done. -
Thanks JessM, Pugwash and Verds for your positive posts. I understand from those who have taken part in the past that they have felt it was beneficial which is encouraging. Somebody who is interested has been in touch so hopefully it will work out. Kind regards

I am starting an Observational Course at the Tavistock Clinic. In order to develop observational skills, preclinical practice and understanding of early infancy the course requires me to observe a parent(mum/dad) and baby for one hour a week for two years. It is not to provide advice and the observation is carried out in a non-judgemental way. Ideally I am looking for a family who is having a baby in October. If you think you would be interested please do get in touch. We can set up an informal meeting to answer any questions you have and of course you can change your mind after the meeting. The observations can happen on a day/time convenient to you (it does need to be the same day & time every week) in your home/ a baby group/ routine trip out. All my observations will of course be confidential and anonymous. I have further information that I can e-mail if anyone is interested, a letter from my University confirming who I am and a recent CRB check. Please do get in touch if you think you are able to help.
